My story

Hello and welcome to my website!

I am Olga Girault, beekeeper and founder of Anaqmisk’i, based in Cusco, Peru and in Brittany, France. Wherever I go in the world, the bees find me, and with the help of other fellow beekeepers, we work together to harvest magical honey.

How did it all start? Since a young age, I have been a traveller. My family and I visited many places around the world which exposed me to multiple cultures and religions that helped nurture my vision of a world without borders: One gigantic family, enriched by its cultural diversity. I have always been fascinated by the human experience around the world and the stories woven within every being on this planet.  Each person carries a unique story within them. And I was given the gift of open ears, eager to listen.

As I grew up, I sought out the meaning of my own existence. What exactly is my story and the purpose of my journey? What is the key to happiness? What is truth?

In my teens, I grew up in big cities, interspersed with moments of total freedom in the wild. These gasps of fresh air contrasted the modern ways of life in the metropolis. Of course, there were the many distractions that fed short-lived illusions of material happiness. And over time I realized more and more that this was not for me. I longed for Nature, for connection, and to understand this mysterious force that birthed us from her soil, made us breathe, and that we depend on in order to live... she is our Mother! And yet, I felt so distant from Mother Earth... So I travelled even more, searching in Nature and through the stories of our global family to comprehend the key to bliss in life. And the more I explored, the more I stayed away from First World countries. My journey directed me to cultures that had kept their ancient traditions and ways of living intact.

The cultures I met had achieved a healthy distance and relationship with the destructive effects of globalization through living simply and nurturing their sense of connection with Nature, their well-being and peace of mind. They live aligned with the movements and cycles of the land and of the elements. It spoke clearly through their words and in their eyes. The motions of the Earth and her seasons were part of them - the Laws of Nature flowing through them in complete harmony. The simple expression of just being in Nature – breathing, silence, rest. All with great ease. This shook me to the core of my being. Through the gentle whispers of the wind, I remembered the truth of the natural order and beauty all around me.

I always felt a call to those places where Nature was more untouched by human hands. I spent most of my twenties in Papua New Guinea, building up a successful coffee business and three cafes. When I turned 27, I decided to travel to Peru. I fell in love the day I arrived in Cusco: the wild mountains of the Andes, its history, the culture, the people, and the sense of community deeply embedded in the hearts of the native people and their connection with the land. The Earth here carried the vibration of what I had been yearning for so long. And Id found it.

From that day onward, my life was changed. I left my business and everything else behind. I followed my heart and went out to find my own loving heart and connection to the Earth. I discovered what it means to be human and be alive by listening to my truth. Every day I asked myself - How do I embody and carry myself to the fullest expression of myself every day?

That difficult time of deep reflection lasted a year. Whether it was in the barren high peaks of the Andes or in the lush climate of the Sacred Valley of Cusco, I walked and sat in silence, going inwards into a time of contemplation and opening myself up, shedding layer after layer, strengthening my connection to my center.

During this time of transformation, the bees made their appearance officially. I share more details about this beautiful initiation in my online course (click here for more info)

From my longing for connection with Creation, I was given the unpredictable gift to meet the bees. From then on, their presence has accompanied my journey and they have been my greatest teacher and ally. I was akin to Nature through the bees. Not only does engaging with them provide me a huge sense of joy and a feeling of simply being alive, but each time I visit them and I immerse in their presence and frequency, it always has a profound effect on me. Time seems to slow down to the point where... no time exists.  My mind seems to switch off and my senses are wide awake. Naturally my breath slows down. I am with them. There is a reciprocity of awareness. I see them and they observe me. They watch my every move. I tune into their vibration and pay attention to all the signs and cues of the hive They have so much to share for those willing to listen! If you would like to know more, it is all in my online course !!!

 My offering

My passion and work is my life service: to carry on evolving with the bees, to see where they take me, and most importantly to continue to listen to them. When I listen to them, they sing me the story of our planet, of the plants and its creatures. I see the World differently now. I notice the songs and cues of beauty surrounding me constantly. I am more aware of the insect and plant world. I hear the little noises, the whispers and the infinity of silence. It is as if the bees’ micro world has opened up to me and shares its boundless wonders, beauty and immensity.

What makes it more meaningful? Sharing what I have learned and experienced, and to water those seeds of curiosity and drive that each human has within them.

How can we spark the connection to Mother Nature and understand her vast mystery and apply it into our daily lives?

I have been working on Sacred Bee Wisdom, a 4-week online course for 14 months now where I share everything I know: My embodied experiences and innate teachings of the bees combined with the condensed information I gathered from a plethora of books written over the centuries by men and women fascinated by bees.

What you will learn from it?

The different levels of influence of the Hive Consciousness as a whole on humankind: spiritually, energetically, physically, metaphorically and the symbolic representation that we come across in many cultures across the world. You will learn about the bee’s frequency and her different languages: a mysterious yet profound medicine that we are still discovering now! You will glimpse further into the larger macro world of the bees and her different medicines. There is so much more to dive into, which I share in my “online course page” (click here)

If you feel the call to meet the Andean bee, whether you are just starting out, or a novice or experienced beekeeper, and you want to know more about this incredible creature beyond the basic conventional information that we find everywhere, and also learn about Andean traditions... well this course is for you!

I will start this course three times this year until this summer’s peak beekeeping season: on every second new moon until June. I will resume again in Autumn- around October. I have lots of surprises in there for you! Click on the link below for more information and.. come join me!

Where can you find me nowadays?

Since my arrival in Peru in 2017, I have finally learned the language of the land, built a strong community of natural beekeepers and friends and had the opportunity to open a business here: a honey shop in Ollantaytambo that I lost during the pandemic (I talk more about it in my Breton Bee page). I have been back and forth between the Bretton lands in France and Peru where I have apiaries. However, I am growing my roots here in the Sacred Valley of Cusco. In the year 2023, I will start my 3 months apprenticeship with a family-owned native Bee sanctuary in the Peruvian jungle. There I will learn the ancient art of bee venom therapy.

Why bee venom? Not only is it anti-ageing, but it contains a few active molecules as enzymes and peptides that helps treating inflammation and central nervous system diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and most recently Lyme disease. I am very excited of this project and hoping to share what I know in my incoming Level 2 Bee course.

Thank you for reading a bit of my journey,

Hasta Siempre! Olga

Incredible art created by my friend Daniel Peschiera (Iikaq) representing me and the Hive’s Consciousness.

“Honey is the vessel of more than ten thousands of phytochemical compounds in both edible & non-edible plants. The bees are the only insects to transform toxic plants into comsumable medicinal substance with incredible benefits for humankind.”
